Property Investor information for: Slovenia

British property investors are being increasingly drawn to the outstanding natural beauty, excellent public services and growing transport links boasted by Slovenia.

Since attaining independence from Yugoslavia and entering the EU, the country has prospered, with a liberalised economy and new budget airline connections making it easier for foreigners to buy property investment.

Now a survey by Channel 4 programme A Place in the Sun puts Slovenia eighth in a list of the twenty most lucrative places for proeprty investors in the next decade, anticipating returns of 278 per cent.

Jure Pozar, project manager for the Slovenian area at the Homebuyer Show, said: "The Slovenian property market has been advancing well and we are expecting strong growth in the near future with trends showing an increase in sales of properties, especially to UK residents.

"British buyers tend to favour the more characteristic older properties such as old stone houses for about €35,000 (£23,800) but the new developments in Ljubljana and around are also becoming more popular."
