Property Investor information for: Seychelles
The Seychelles archipelago occupies the western part of the Indian Ocean and the islands are spread over an Exclusive Economic Zone of 1.3 million square kilometres. The main island, Mahe, lies some 1800km off the east coast of Africa. Seychelles comprises 115 islands and boasts the only mid-ocean granite islands in the world. The 40 mountainous granite islands are found within a radius of 50km from the main island, Mahe. The remainder which are coral islands and flat are generally spread over a larger area towards the south and south west of Mahe.
Among the 115 islands of the Seychelles you will find the luxuriant, tropical paradise that appears in countless advertisements and glossy travel brochures. But however seductive the images, they simply can't compete with the real-life dazzling beaches and crystal-clear waters.
There are more shades of blue and green in the Seychelles than it is possible to imagine. Forming a backdrop to the relaxed tropical image of the Seychelles are the rhythms, colours and flavours of Africa and gris gris, the local brand of black magic.
